FIRE SERVICE COURSE DESIGN
Preparation is the key to any good training course.
The design process is the most important part of developing and delivering a
successful training course.
This 5 day, 40 hour course prepares the student to
effectively design, develop and assemble Fire/Rescue/EMS training courses
utilizing the NFA course design model.
With successful completion of this program the student
will be trained to the requirements of NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor 2 level.
During the classroom training session the student will be guided through the
Course Design Process with one on one assistance from the instructor, and
peer review of the format by fellow students. This course requires a
considerable amount of out of the classroom work. On the final day of class
each student will be required to present and submit the following:
1.
A proposal presentation to the class
2.
A written course outline draft
Within 60 days of the completion of the course each
student is required to submit:
Finished Course Outline, Course Description
and Student Manual or Study guide
Course Content Includes:
- Training Needs Analysis
- NFA Course Design Model
- Developing and writing course Goals, Objectives and
Content
- Evaluating and incorporating Media and Training Aids
- Developing Course Outline
- Analyzing Time Needs and Constraints
- Developing a Student Manual or Study Guide
- Training Course Proposal Presentations
